The Murph Challenge Day 22: Jack Jablonski

Day 22 of 31 is dedicated to someone who had his entire life change in one instant on the ice. Jack Jablonski had that moment happen in 2011 (at age 16) when he broke two vertebrae’s and severed his spinal cord after being checked into the boards in a hockey game.

I’m inspired by Jack (aka Jabs) so many ways. His drive, attitude, resilience, maturity, and determination are just a few. I think about a 16 year old kid that was destined for Division I Hockey, have his dream shift from playing in the NHL to being able to move his arms, wiggle his toes, and gain mobility back.

Jab’s is a fighter, an overcomer, a person that instills hope, grit, and belief into others. Take a moment to watch (or rewatch) his story to put things into perspective. We can all learn from Jabs.

Every Day We Fight is honored to dedicate today’s Murph Challenge to Jack Jablonski. A true inspiration to all that know his story and an even bigger one to those that recognize it’s far from finished.

Day 22 Murph Time: 28:52

When I did the Murph Challenge for the first time I became hooked. Not because it was fun but because it was painful, challenging, and meaningful.

These 31 challenges are a dedication to a fighter, a warrior, a person battling that’s an everyday hero.

“The Murph Challenge is more than just a workout. It is a tradition that helps push us, humble us, and allows us the opportunity to dedicate a bit of pain and sweat to honor, LT. Michael P. Murphy, a man who sacrificed everything he had for our freedom.”
