Krystal's Korner
Krystal Baumann is from Farmington, MN. She grew up playing sports and ended up playing D1 hockey for the University of Vermont. Her career was cut short due to injury, so she transferred to Mankato State and eventually Gustavus Adolphus
Throughout college she was a hockey coach for Holy Angels, Farmington, and St. Peter/LeSeur girl’s high school teams.
After college, she obtained a teaching position in Grand Marais, MN. She worked individually with students both in and out of the special education department at the Cook County Public School. Two people she worked with inspired her to pursue a career in mental health. King George and Kyler, thank you for being you.
Soon after enrolling in school she was diagnosed with Chronic Myleoid Leukemia. The diagnosis came when she was 25. At 28, Krystal continues to fight cancer and finish her masters in Clinical Mental Health, with the plan to be a therapist for children and adolescents.
You’ll also find her writing on Krystal’s Korner, smiling on Warrior Wednesday, and spending time with the people she loves most.
