The 2022 Murph Challenge Day 11: Becky Bohdalik
One of coolest opportunities with Every Day We Fight is giving all our 2021 nominees a chance nominate a fighter for 2022. Hana Brunner was one of those warriors from last year. She is a fighter going through a similar battle as today’s dedication and during their fight developed a bond through adverse times.
Hana writes: “Becky was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in February of 2021. After struggling with digestive issues for awhile, she landed in urgent care where she found out that those issues were actually caused by a large malignant mass in her colon which had spread to her liver.
She hit her cancer hard and has shown amazing strength and positivity throughout her treatment.
Even through difficult test results and a painful treatment regimen that left her sick and and in pain (although she never lost her hair, which she was excited to point out to me the day we met!)
She has extended a supporting shoulder to other survivors, including myself. When I met her she was full of kindness and love, offering me advice and support on how to best make it through my own treatment for colorectal cancer.
Becky is currently on a maintenance dosage of chemo in hopes that her cancer will stop growing. She is a amazing, strong, survivor, who I am grateful to know.”
We are honored to dedicate Day 11 of 32 to a fighter who lifts up other fighters, Becky Bohdalik. Team Murph (in which Hana did all 300 squats in Becky’s honor): 26:46
