The 2022 Murph Challenge Day 1: LT. Michael P. Murphy
Let’s take a moment today to recognize that our freedom isn’t free. We are blessed in many ways that we often forget. This day is about remembering and honoring the men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Today we honored LT. Michael P. Murphy. A hero that ran into gunfire so his Seal Team could survive. His favorite workout is now named after him:
The Murph
One mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
One mile run
Wearing a 20lb weight vest
I was grateful to do the Murph Challenge with my Title Boxing Lakeville Family this morning. Thank you for pushing through the pain and discomfort of the Murph Challenge together.
As we kick off year two, I’m reminded of one of my favorite Bible verses:
“That is the way I run, with a clear goal in mind. That is the way I fight, not like someone shadow boxing. No, I keep on disciplining my body, making it serve me so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified.”
Corinthians 9:26-27
When we started this nonprofit, it came out of a prayer. The goal and purpose was to bring light and inspiration to people fighting, battling, and suffering. God placed a passion in me to support these fighters.
When we can put purpose, meaning, and perspective into what we do and how we do it, our ability magnifies. We are able to push harder, run faster, go longer, help more people, and do more good than we could on our own.
This was Day 1 of 32 straight Murph Challenges to help individuals fighting battles.
